Elizabeth “Liz” (Larrabee) Garrett, 82, of Robinson, IL formerly of Oblong, IL passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. Liz was born on April 1, 1933 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of John Otho Larrabee and Essie May (Metheny) Larrabee.
Liz was an accountant at Rockwell International in Downey, CA , retiring in 1990. Liz was a graduate of Oblong High School class of 1951; she served on the Crawford County Health Board for 2 years, 1996-1998; and served on the Oblong Village Board for 1 term in 1995-1999. Her hobbies included scratch off lottery tickets, fishing, camping, cooking, especially Mexican foods, watching football and golf.
Liz is survived by her son Rodney Jay Garrett, Fountain Valley, CA; two brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Rowena Larrabee, John ad Helen Larrabee, all of Oblong, IL; a sister, Linda Bonnell, Robinson, IL; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Liz in death were her parents; a brother-in-law Jew Bonnell; and William Jack, an infant brother at birth.
